In an inherently selfish society and, particularly, an industry that upholds libertarian and objectivist ideology as dogma, philanthropy cannot sustain a project no matter how important. babeljs.io/blog/2021/05/10/fun

The other issue I’m having with VSCode is VSCodium tends to not like many extensions. On my work machine it’s been enough that I’ve had to go back to actual VSCode. Do I want to continue to use this Microsoft product or is it worth it to pay JetBrains, a small company, for PhpStorm again?

One thing I’m noticing a lot as I evaluate whether I’ll continue to use VSCode is how many of the extensions are poorly maintained or abandoned. Putting together a dev env feels a bit like putting together a WP site. Can this model work over time with VSCode?

This afternoon has been spent listening to some music (currently Rura) and relaxing, for a change, I need to do this more often.

Bad: I can’t fit in to any of my shorts

Good: it’s because I’ve lost so much weight.

For once I need to buy smaller shorts and I’m super excited about this problem (and grateful I’ve got $100 in Old Navy gift cards to use).

A sad and powerfully honest update from @glimpse "A Project On Hiatus" glimpse-editor.org/posts/a-pro

I'm proud to have been contributing (small) amounts of funding and I think @TrechNex and all Glimpse developers deserve lots of gratitude, even if you have never used the app.

After setting up my iPad yesterday I think this is going to be the right setup for me. Need to replace my laptop later this year and then I’m done fucking around with my tech stack for a while.

Google "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air". Click the license plate in the top left. After, use the back button. You won't be disappointed

I just booked a hotel room for the first time since 2019. It feels so… weird.

Now that we’re fully vaccinated we met friends for dinner for the first time in 14 months and it was wonderful.

I'm searching for resources about code review processes. Feel free to reply with your experiences too. I'm not interested in technical matters right now like how to automate parts of code review or your Opinion about the right size of a pull request. I'm asking about the social process of deciding when to merge. How do you ensure quality and keep development moving ahead without getting dragged down by disagreements? Boosts appreciated.

This is your regular reminder to join a union if you can
The union is the reason my employer #1 has to pay me for 4 hours work even when they only need 2.5 hours done, and then pay for my cab home if it’s scheduled to end past end of public transport hours.

Looking at selling my Oryx Pro. Just don’t have a use for it. Works great, looks almost brand new and has 3 chargers. Anyone interested?
